Seeds
No matter what pressures the market brings to bear, architecture cannot be deprived of its unique position in human life. It remains one of the few art forms where people experience its implied meanings simply through living in it for extended periods. The meaning of existence and the formation of self-awareness can only be revealed through dwelling in a space, and through the holistic perception and experience of that space.
The “Seeds” exhibition area reveals the self-enrichment in the relationship between Kuo and Huang. As long-term collaborators, they are inseparable yet possess independent identities, working creatively together through constant debate. The deep experiences of their personal growth have imbued their architecture with emotion and empathy. They engage in constant self-examination through extensive reading and deliberation, resulting in intellectually sophisticated and elegant design works. They shape architecture, even as their own selves are shaped by it.
